A Benediction for Belonging

Creator God:
We know our time is in your hands, 
and yet
you mean for us to build the world
in which we are to live.

So when the worries of the day settle on us
and feel like the weight of the world,
may our eyes find the horizon
and the hopefulness it holds.

When we are tempted by easy answers of yes and no,
either/or, us and them,
may we remember also the path of "yes...and"
as we alongside each other on the way.

When we struggle to find the meaning
or to remain open to the joy,
may we trust that our contributions 
are how creation is made whole.

Oh God,
grant us comfort in our sorrows;
grant us fortitude for our work;
grant us gratitude for our blessings
today and in the days to come.

In the name of ALL that is holy...Amen
